[Restaurant] #Samsiseki(삼시세끼)

It is uncommon to find a Korean restaurant serving mainly pork dishes in Jakarta.
Last week, we happened to find one.
The name of the place is Samsiseki (삼시세끼)
located at
Wijaya Grand Centre, Jl. Darmawangsa III No.6, RT.6/RW.1, Pulo, Kec. Kby. Baru, Kota Jakarta Selatan, Daerah Khusus Ibukota Jakarta 12160.
The restaurant occupies a small shop house in a cluster of Business Centre – mainly house Korean tenants.

1. Place
At the time of our visit, the restaurant was only about two weeks old.
Since we visited at around 2PM, it was way past lunch time, hence it looks quite deserted.
Overall, the interior has a simple and clean esthetic.
The wooden furniture is sturdy looking, which is a characteristic of a typical Korean restaurant furniture.
2. Food
For main food, we ordered two servings of Sundae Gukbap (순대국밥) which is a pork soup with bone broth and Sundae. Each costs IDR 70,000 for one portion of soup with white rice.
We also ordered Sundae (순대) or Korean blood sausage for IDR 200,000.
Lastly, we ordered two bottles of Soju to complement the meaty taste. The restaurant also offered free drink (chilled water) and many side dishes.

1. Side dishes
The side dishes are amazing, it is certainly one of the best, most diverse, and most fresh among all side dishes offered by Korean restaurants in Indonesia.
1. Radish kimchi; 깍두기
2. Brasied lotus roots; 연근조림
3. Brasied black beans: 검은콩조림
4. Kimchi: 김치
5. Mustard greens kimchi: 갓김치
6. Seasoned Squash: 애호박 나물
7. Stir-fried spicy peanuts: 매운땅콩볶음
8. Seasoned Spinach: 시금치 나물

2. Sundae Gukbap; 순대국밥
Our Sundae Gukbap was served approximately 15 minutes after ordering.
It came with chili paste, chili powder, as well as pepper and salt.
The broth is rich, but not so thick, it is still refreshing.
In terms of the meat, the restaurant is very generous – as you can see in the pictures below, it has big chunks of meat and other organs.
Overall, it was wonderful! When directly consumed, it warms not only your stomach, but also your heart 😊

3. Sundae platter; 모듬순대
The Sundae came a little bit later afterwards.
The portion consists of chunks of normal sundae (the black one), kimchi sundae (the orange one), and slabs of pork liver and kidney.
It was meant to be eaten after dipping it in a selection of salt, shrimp paste, and chili paste.
For us, this dish was way too dry, tough and chewy.
This is hand-made sundae not from big sundae factory.
Perhaps it is perfect to put all of these into a soup, but not so good if eaten as it is.
However, we polished off everything down with Soju and the vegetable kimchi, and overall still had a wonderful experience!

We would definitely go back to the restaurant sometime soon, and we wish that the business will continue to flourish.It was a really nice experience, a reminiscence of our Mom’s home-made food
