[Restaurant] #Becca's Bake House;

Today’s blog is about our visit to a nice café in a small corner in Pluit Area, North Jakarta:

Becca’s Bake House.

We chose this place randomly while browsing the internet to find a breakfast place. We use keyword "Egg benedict North jakarta" in google

1. Place

It is easy to find this place by navigating through google maps.

The road where the cafe resides is quite spacious. We got a spot to park since we are among the first customers of the day.

The interior of the café is quite homey and cozy to our liking. However, there is nothing special to speak of, save from these unique tiles.

2. Food

Our order today's include; 1 Big Breakfast Set, 1 Egg's Benedict, 1 Croissant, and coffee.

My husband ordered warm white latte, while I opted for Es Kopi Gula Aren.

All of those cost us IDR 200k something, which is not very cheap, but definitely cheaper compare to Mall’s price.

It didn’t take too long to be served – we got every order within 10 minutes durationb because we are almost the first customer.

1. Ovomatine Croissant

-. First dish served is the Ovomaltine Croissant. Actually, both of us are not a big fan of Croissant.

We very rarely buy this type of bread, and when on rare occasion we did bought it, we were usually disappointed (the croissant is either too soggy or too chewy).

However, Becca’s Bake House is famous for their Croissant.

I took the first bite, and..It was super amazing!

-. The outer part is very crispy (when you knock it with the fork, it sounds like “Tuk, Tuk, Tuk”)

-. When the teeth sinks in, they are welcomed with the softness of thin layers of bread and abundance of chocolate. Surprisingly, My husband enjoyed it too, despite the fact that he generally dislikes the combination of chocolate and bread!

2. Coffee

-. We washed the bread down with our coffee which looks like this:

This is just a normal warm latte, nothing to shout about except for its sheer simplicity. It just looks very pretty for the camera 😉
This is Es Kopi Gula Aren

-. Es Kopi Gula Aren, which is an iced coffee with palm sugar.

-. It is kind of different compare to its peers because the coffee is somewhat sour.

It tasted good and I enjoyed every sip of it.

3. Egg's Benedict

-. Our main dishes came at last. We were starving and we started to have high expectation on the menus.

-. The poached egg was perfectly cooked and when you sliced thru the center of the egg, golden yolk showed and streamed out, soaking the bacon & croissant stacked below it.

-. The salad is very refreshing, as you can see. Lettuce, Romain, Baby Tomato, and pickled radish with a very subtle sour dressing (our guess is French Dressing).

-. Taste is 10/10, it couldn’t get any better. It even defeated a famous Egg’s Benedict in one very famous restaurant at Grand Indonesia.

4. Big Breakfast Set

-. At last, the waiter brought out the Big Breakfast Set.

-. The menu consisted of whole croissant, baked beans in gravy, roasted mushroom, roasted tomatoes, 2 streaks of bacon, 1 fried sausage cut in half, and home-made strawberry jam!

-. It was just over the top nice! Husband and I almost literally licked the plates.

-. We ate the crumbs of the croissant and even the last drop of the strawberry jams.

[Note and Review]

1. After finished with everything, My husband did not frown or file a single complaint, like he always did. We will surely revisit Becca’s Bake House in the near future.

2. What we love about this place is that there are many elderlies visited and seemed to enjoy the food despite western food is mainly favored by the youngsters.

For us, this speaks volumes about the quality of the food.
