[Restaurant] #Ta Chia
Thanks for your visit.
This time, the topic is our review on Ta Chia, a Chinese restaurant located in Muara Karang, North Jakarta. We found the place on the internet when looking for Bakut Teh soup for breakfast.

1. Place
We have visited the restaurant twice within the last 3 months.
This particular review will focus on our second visit. Ta Chia opens everyday at 7 AM to 10 PM.
We were the earliest customers on the day of our visit, and there were no other customers until we finished eating.
The restaurant is spacious, clean, with good lighting and simple decoration.
The staffs are attentive & responsive to our request. They quickly took our order.
2. Food
Our order today's include;
1 Kwetiau Goreng Seafood, 1 Sop Ikan dengan Bakmi, 1 Stir-Fry Lettuce,
and Black coffe & Kaya toast with half boiled eggs.
1. Kwetiau Goreng Seafood
We usually have big appetite for breakfast, so we ordered quite a lot of food.
First dish to come was Kwetiau Goreng Seafood or Fried Flat Noodle with Seafood.
The taste is simple and straightforward, with a tinge of sweetness.
The kwetiau was cooked together with a few small shrimps, fish cake pieces, bean sprouts, and a little bit of greens. The portion is very small, it tends to leave you wanting more.

2. Sop Ikan dengan Bakmi
Next dish served, is Sop Ikan dengan Bakmi or Clear Fish Soup served with Noodles.
The dish tastes refreshing, with a hint of sour and savory flavor.
The dish contains fish pieces (we don’t have any clue which species of fish, though), a few shrimps, lettuce, fried garlic, and noodles.
It was served in a thick ceramic bowl that helps maintain the heat.
Compare to other fish soups that we had tried, Ta Chia fish soup is quite bland.
However, we liked it because we can eat it as much as we want without feeling overwhelmed with strong flavors. We can always dip our food on soy sauce & chili to suit our taste.

3. Stir-Fry Lettuce
To complement our main order, we also asked for Stir-Fry Lettuce.
We love the texture and bright color of the lettuce.
The dish has a dominant garlicky flavor.
The husband actually hates the fact that they pour oyster sauce on top of the dish instead of cooking it together with the lettuce.
4. Breakfast package(Hot black coffee, Kaya toast and half boiled effs)
For dessert, we order a breakfast package (consisted of: hot black coffee, kaya toast, and half boiled eggs).
The dish was pretty normal tasting.

The coffee was delicious, but not so special. The eggs are fresh and quite pleasant.
We didn’t really enjoy the toast, because we prefer thinner slice of bread and we would love it more if it got burnt longer. They also did not put a generous amount of Kaya jam.
After eating all of these meals, we still have a room for yet another dessert – Ice Cream that we bought in a nearby supermarket.
[Note and Review]
1. The restaurant serves small portion of meals and the taste is rather bland.
We think that this is because their main customers are elderlies.
--> On our first visit, the restaurant was quite packed with elderlies.
2. The price is also rather expensive because the restaurant is located in a posh neighborhood
in Jakarta. This restaurant is not a favorite, but we will definitely revisit this place
with our parents or elderly acquaintances. They will surely love it.
