[03.Dec.21~21.Dec.21] #2-2. Arrival in KOR

After immigration, we followed the designated lane for arriving passengers.

There were also sign to separate passengers coming from africa.

Finally got our luggage going around alone on the coveyor belt.

1. After immigration

After immigration, we can see fences around our exit for passenger to be separated from usual area. If we buy foods or rent pocket WIFI, we can go out after leaving our paspoort in the booth.

1) Move to Hometown

-. At first, we choose one of options to get the hometown since we were not allowded to take pulic transportation by ourselves.

Option1) Public transportation offered by goverment

Option2) Special cab with a driver

--> We chose "Option2" becuase of below reasons.

1. Too cold

2. Dangerous situation "Share bus with other passengers"

3. Wating and transferring time

1. Public transportation offered by goverment

-. Cost: Not sure free or not because we didnt use it

-. If hometown is not big city, have to transfer bus.

      1) Move to the special zone in the big city by bus

      2) Trasfer other vehicles to move other city

2. Specia cab with a driver / Quarantine taxi

-. Cost: Paid by ourselves / quite expensive

(In our case, we paid around $250)

-. Have to book a taxi before going to the hometown

-. While waiting taxi drivers, we rent a pocket wifi and bought some bread, coffee and tea to ease our hunger. The logn drive didn't seem to long at all, since we mostly dozed off.

Which pocket wifi?

: We choose 'WIFI Dosirak" which is one of famous pocket wifi brands.

--> During pandemic, This brand is only one getting pocket wifi in incheon airport.

-. Register personal information in the booth with taxi drivers

: Passenger information, Quarantine information, Taxi drivers information, Taxi number and so on.

2) PCR Test

-. While moving to the hometown, goverment officer called us and then they instructed us to quickly go to the nearest public health center near hometown to take mandatory PCR Test.

-. PCR test also did not take too long, taking into account the very quiet nature.

One thing did pop out from the whole procedure.

-. The PCR swab tool in Korea seemed much bigger & sturdier compare to that used in Indonesia. It was almost as if they sticked a ballpoint pen to your nose. It was so painful and both of us cried a bit.

-. The hospital staffs gave us each a large box containing fabric cleaner, hand cleanser (alcohol), masks, temperature checking tools, and plastic trash with a special marking (highly contagious).

3) Home Quarantine

-. On the first day of quarantine, some government staffs called us once every hour to check our whereabout, to inquire on our plan, and to remind us to keep the apps on and to never leave our premises.

-. The next day, one government official even gave us a surprise visit at home. This leaves no room for hanky-panky, which crossed our mind from time to time.

-. Two days afterwards, the government sent two large boxes of food supplies both for citizen & non-citizen alike. We felt vey much welcomed and a little bit affected of this kind & caring gesture of South Korean government.

-. To note, all of these procedures related to COVID-19 prevention (starting from the PCR test, care packages, and food supplies) didn’t cost a single cent! Food supplies consisted of well-known brands of instant rice, instant noodles, ready to eat soups, canned tuna, canned kimchi, and curry powder and jajang powder.
